About us
Sourashtra College for Women, a prestigious and well-established institution affiliated with Madurai Kamaraj University, is efficiently managed by the renowned and service-oriented Sourashtra College Council, a linguistic minority philanthropic association devoted to quality and progressive higher education. Driven by a deep-rooted and inspiring commitment to empowering women through holistic and value-based education in Arts and Science, the Council has constructed magnificent and architecturally impressive buildings on the picturesque Pasumalai Hill.
The college’s serene and scenic location offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the sacred Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple, creating a peaceful, motivating, and intellectually stimulating academic environment.
The institution began its academic journey on 19th August 1998 in a modest temporary building. Its spacious and well-designed permanent campus was formally inaugurated on 23rd September 2000 by the then esteemed and honorable Governor of Tamil Nadu, Justice M. Fathima Beevi.
